As if they should be shuttled off to the side and only mentioned amongst like-minded individuals.<br /><br />It's part of a larger shaming of social democratic principles, a misinterpretation of what socialism is (it's fundamentally different from communism).<br /><br />I, for one, am not ashamed to hold social democratic principals. I believe in freedom, equality, protection of the weak and vulnerable. Perhaps (most ironically) they are tied with my Christian identity (to this day I can't understand the fascination with conservatism amongst conservative folk). <br /><br />So I'm not going to shuttle off to the side and whisper my beliefs only to my friends that believe the same. I'm ready to say them proudly. And I say good on Lewis for doing the same. We need more people honestly asking what kind of Canada we want to live in.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
